For Chef David Thomas, food has always been about more than what is on the plate. It is about place, memory, culture, and the people who gather around the table.

Through H3irloom Food Group, Chef David has spent years exploring the connections between Maryland ingredients, African American foodways, Southern traditions, and the culinary stories that have shaped the region.

But there was another story waiting to be told.
