About the event
Join us for the first Long Table where the theme is: Blackwater.
Blackwater draws its name from the rivers, marshes, and tidal lands that have shaped Black life along the Atlantic coast. These waters fed communities, carried people and stories, and quietly held the labor, skill, and knowledge that sustained generations.
This dinner explores foodways born at the edge of land and water—where fishing, farming, foraging, and preservation met necessity and care. The menu moves through smoke, salt, grain, and tide, honoring the ingenuity of Black communities who made abundance from what the land and water provided.
Served family-style, Blackwater invites guests to slow down and share a table shaped by resilience, memory, and place. Like the waters themselves, the stories here run deep.
